The Shedding Phase (Telogen Effluvium)

During pregnancy, elevated estrogen levels keep hair follicles locked in the Anagen (Growth) phase. Post-delivery, the sudden drop in hormones causes a synchronized shift of these follicles into the Telogen (Resting/Shedding) phase. This results in massive shedding 3-4 months postpartum.

The Ferritin Threshold

While the hormonal shift is inevitable, the duration of regrowth is dictated by nutrient status. The critical rate-limiting factor is Ferritin (iron storage). Clinical trichology data suggests that hair follicles require a serum Ferritin level of >70 ng/mL to re-enter the Anagen phase. Most postpartum women are anemic (<30 ng/mL), leading to chronic thinning.

ChemGrade Protocol

Iron Bisglycinate (45mg) + L-Cysteine (500mg). Iron restores the fuel; Cysteine provides the sulfur-rich structural block for keratin synthesis.
