GABA Receptor Allosteric Modulators

Inhibitory Signaling
GABA is the brain's "brake pedal." Supplemental GABA (the amino acid) rarely crosses the blood-brain barrier effectively. Instead of adding more gas (GABA), we use modulators to make the brake pedal more sensitive.
Valerenic Acid
Found in Valerian Root, Valerenic Acid binds to the beta-subunit of the GABA-A receptor. It induces a structural change that makes the receptor bind more efficiently to your naturally existing GABA. This results in sedation without the heavy dependency risk of synthetic drugs.
The Stack
Valerian (500mg) + Lemon Balm (300mg). Lemon Balm inhibits GABA Transaminase (the enzyme that destroys GABA), keeping levels higher for longer.
